Denny Baer’s Photo – “Fog Dance” was selected as CCHHI’s Photo of the Year at our holiday event. Denny joins his wife, Fran, who won the award last year, in winning this year’s award. We are pleased to announce that on WEDNESDAY, February 26th the competition will be judged by Mark Hilliard, a noted photographer from Pawley’s Island. A Landscape, Wildlife & Fine Art Photographer for 47 years, Mark has extensively traveled the world chasing his photographic visions. Mark co-owns the Lens Work Gallery in Pawleys Island where he specializes in fine art nature photography. Mark is best known for his ultra high speed hummingbird photography, lightning, water drops, ultra long exposures and especially his advanced infrared work and workshops! Mark will present a program devoted to infrared photography, using a series of specially modified cameras and post processing with Photoshop and Nik software. The club is also pleased to announce that Mark Hilliard will offer a workshop, based at the LENS and beginning on Thursday evening, February 27th. The program will continue all day Friday the 28th of February and conclude on Saturday, March 1st. The class is limited to 12 photographers. The cost of the program is $130.00 per person. (This is a substantial savings over his normal workshop charge) Those members without a converted camera will be permitted to use one of the loaner cameras provided by Mark. Members must share these camera as there are not enough for each member to have one for their exclusive use.
