Joel Davidson Webinar – “Street Photography Unmasked”

Joel Davidson will present a series of candid black and white street images that capture emotions that relate to connections, romance, spirituality, admiration, humor, anger, joy, pride, curiosity, calmness and intensity.  Davidson feels that street photography without capturing emotion is boring.
Joel Davidson Webinar - “Street Photography Unmasked”

Joel Davidson is a photographer whose work captures emotion and connection. He focuses on light and timing in order to reveal the essence of a person, animal, bird or place. Joel favors black and white photographs with dramatic light, form, texture and a sense of place. He makes color images when a scene is overtaken by vibrant hues.

Seven of his prints are permanently displayed at the University Hospitals in Cleveland. His images have been exhibited at a museum show in Vancouver, Canada, the South Windsor Library in South Windsor, CT, the Jewish Community Center in Springfield, MA and the Valley Photo Center in Springfield, MA. Two of his photographs can be seen in the promotional materials of The Santa Fe Photographic Workshop.

In March 2019, Joel was featured in Dek Uno Magazine. The photography magazine published eleven of his images. An extensive interview was included in the issue.  The magazine’s introduction stated “Davidson captures the human face of religious rituals, east, west, north and south, with consummate craft and deepest respect.”

Joel has made presentations about photography at the Connecticut Audubon Center in Glastonbury, CT, the Charter Oak Photographic Society in West Hartford, CT, Art Center East in Vernon, CT, the Rotary Club of Manchester, CT, the Chabad Jewish Center in Glastonbury, CT and the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School in South Hadley, MA and the DPI-SIG Naples Photography Club. He has also self-published two books, “Faces of Haiti” and “Jerusalem – Observing the Observant.”
